MEN’S CROSSBODY

Designed for Glad & Young Studio- with Erica Verges

men’s crossbody leather bag

Designed for Glad & Young Studio in collaboration with Erica Verges, the Men’s Crossbody Bag was the first men’s bag included and sold by the company.

The design explores the need for male bags that satisfies the whitespace of efficient, unobtrusive sizing- smaller than a tote bag, yet bigger than a wallet. The design maintains a masculine silhouette with the boxy body and squared strap connectors.

Featuring an asymmetrical zipper front, the bag securely holds a wallet, phone, keys, and any other necessary items with adjustable straps for wide flexibility in sizing.

Selling in a wide variety of colors, the bag can hold its own as a functional accessory, all while elevating the outfit.

Prototyping allowed for size exploration and the discovery of solutions for strap attachments.

The strap connectors are sewn into the bag at the base of the asymmetrical zipper to create longer leading lines. The connectors allow the bag to lay flat on the chest and pose a designed solution to strap attachments, rather than sewing the straps directly into the bag.

This connection piece is a low waste solution to a custom strap length request as it encourages a simple strap swap rather than the construction of a whole new bag.

The bag is currently for sale on Glad & Young Studio’s website and in stores.
